Melbourne & Fremantle this weekend

Thank you to everyone who came down to Laneway Festival in Adelaide, Brisbane (sold out) and Sydney (sold out). Amazing music in unique venues, an impressive selection of food and drink and the festivals biggest crowds to date made for a special time in each city. Relive last weekend's antics below:

For those with their ear to the ground, Laneway's own Thundercat also dropped an unreleased track on Sydney’s FBi Radio yesterday. Check it out here.

The tour continues this week in Melbourne and Fremantle for two back to back sold out festivals, read on for details.

LANEWAY FESTIVAL MELBOURNE

Saturday 13 February - Footscray Community Arts Centre, Footscray (SOLD OUT)

unnamed 4

Returning to its spiritual home this Saturday, Melbourne Laneway won’t disappoint. Punters can look forward to a full-blown culinary experience with the likes of Mr Miyagi’s, BeatBox Kitchen, Burn City Smokers, Chillbro Paletas, Taco Truck and a whole lot more.

The festival also welcomes the boys from Crescent City Low Country and 1000 £ Bend as the newest addition to the food roster. Setting up shop in the Amphitheatre by the Mistletone stage on the banks of the Maribyrnong River, the mini-restuaraunt will be armed to the teeth with a couple giant pots of the best Crab, Prawn and Mussel you'll eat this side of the Mason-Dixon Line. Tickets available here.

Alongside the food line-up we’ve got a carefully selected range of local craft beers; treat yourself to a cold Stone & Wood, or a hand crafted beer from one of Melbourne’s very own Temple Brewery and West City Brewing. There will be a range of local market stalls to explore, as well as a pop-up vinyl store manned by the legends from Polyester Records. Festival goers can take home some of their favourite tunes and run into the band members behind them if they’re lucky.

The official Melbourne after-party at Max Watt’s is now sold out. The night will be headlined by Fidlar with a live performance, and feature DJ sets from Laneway 2016 favourites like CHVRCHES, Japanese Wallpaper, and The Smith Street Band.

LANEWAY FESTIVAL FREMANTLE

Sunday 14 February - Esplanade Reserve West End, Fremantle (SOLD OUT)

unnamed 8

Friends and lovers will make their way to the heart of Fremantle this Sunday for the last leg of Laneway Festival 2016. If the last few years are anything to go off, it’s gonna be a hot one! Punters can keep cool underneath the giant Norfolk Pines, and grab a bite to eat from one of the many incredible food vendors on offer. We’re talkin’ Lucky Chan’s Laundry & Noodle Bar, Braised Bros, Wassup Dog plus Freo favourites Old Faithful Bar & BBQ and Clarences who are going head-to-head in a southern-style cook off. To top it off, Punters will be treated to a hand selected range of craft beers from Stone and Wood plus local favourites Otherside, who have been wetting lips in Perth for the past 15 years.

Laneway is also stoked to announce the winner of the Path to Laneway competition in 2016. Local band Hideous Sun Demon will be joining the ranks for our last festival of the year. Check them out here.
