triple j Unearthed winners announced + sideshow and festival updates

In keeping with Laneway's commitment to supporting the best new music, we are very happy to announce the winners of the triple j Unearthed competition. We can't wait for this group of rising acts to join us at Laneway 2015, promising to be our best run of events yet!

Each of the bands below will be appearing at their hometown Laneway Festival. Click through to their triple J unearthed profile to hear their wares.

Brisbane

JOY. - The 17-year-old producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist JOY. aka Olivia McCarthy joins us for Laneway Festival Brisbane. JOY. first caught people’s ear with her debut single ‘Captured’, which gathered an impressive amount of attention across music sites and radio stations around the world. This school student by day, beatmaker by night will surely be a local highlight.

Sydney

I KNOW LEOPARD - Sydney-siders I Know Leopard come along to the party for the Sydney leg of the festival. Fronted by Luke O’Loughlin, the band makes celestial, 70’s-inspired brooding pop tunes that’ll have you cheering along.

Adelaide

SPARKSPITTER - Adelaide trio Sparkspitter bring their ‘math-infected, instrumental art-pop’ to Hart’s Mill in Port Adelaide for Laneway 2015. We cannot wait to hear their debut LP ‘TECHNE’ later this month.

Melbourne

MILWAUKEE BANKS - The Melbourne-based producer and rapper duo Edo and Dyl Thomas are exciting new audiences with their fresh, intelligent take on hip-hop. Check out their excellent debut EP Roe Water, out now.

Fremantle

DIANAS - Perth trio Nathalie, Caitlin and John are Dianas. They join us after a huge year in 2014, writing and recording a new album and are ready to blow you away with their new material.
